Who Qualifies To Get A Bursary Or Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application system.

Applications at the moment are open and may close on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to satisfy the following requirements:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a home using a combined gross family earnings that does not exceed R350 000 per annum.

• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined family income would not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and want not submit any evidence of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for read more the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent website inhabitants from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.
